A group of homes, businesses, or other power consuming facilities are aggregated, commonly controlled to dynamically reduce load at a sufficient rate and by a sufficient amount, and participate in the energy market as market participants . The reduction in power consumption for a single facility is typically very small, but the sum of the reductions in only a few thousand homes or business conglomerates can be on the order of hundreds of kilowatts. The premises power controller may cooperate with an intelligent circuit breaker, which may include a dimmer.
