To provide methods for wide area network based vehicle-to-vehicle signaling.SOLUTION: In a wireless communication system 200, a first base station 205 corresponding to a first cell 215-a in which a vehicle 235 is located receives location information from the vehicle; and, based at least in part on the location information, identifies other multiple cells 215-e, 215-f from which a location message associated with the vehicle should be broadcast. The first base station communicates, regarding broadcast of the location message, with second base stations 205-a, 205-b corresponding to the multiple cells 215-e, 215-f. The vehicle transmits location information and location message information to the first base station; and the first base station and the second base stations 205-a, 205-b broadcast the location messages to the cells 215-a, 215-e, 215-f associated with the vehicle, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
