To provide an excessive temperature increase preventing device that secures an insulating distance while maintaining its small size without adding an insulating member.SOLUTION: A thermostat 27 comprises: a base member 30 that has an opening 30a at one end; a fixing metal fitting 32 that is arranged inside the base member 30; a contact metal fitting 33 that is movable in contact or non-contact with the fixing metal fitting 32 inside the base member 30; an inner lid member 34 that is fitted to the opening 30a in the base member 30; a thermosensitive member 35 that is provided at one end of the inner lid member 34 and is deformed upon detection of a predetermined abnormal temperature; a metal cap 36 that covers the inner lid member 34 and base member 30 on the one end side; and a transmission member 37 that transmits the deformation of the thermosensitive member 35 to the contact metal fitting 33 to bring the contact metal fitting 33 into a non-contact state. On an inner peripheral surface of the base member 30 in contact with the inner lid member 34, and on an outer peripheral surface of the inner lid member 34 in contact with the base member 30, a first screw part 40 and a second screw part 41 engaging with each other are formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
