To provide a control device for a man-power drive vehicle and a control method for a man-power drive vehicle, whereby a motor can be controlled optimally.SOLUTION: There is provided a control device for a man-power drive vehicle. The man-power drive vehicle comprises: a crank rotatable by man-power drive force; and a motor configured to apply propulsion power to the man-power drive vehicle. The control device includes a control unit configured to drive or stop the motor in a case where a parameter regarding rotational speed of the crank satisfies a predetermined condition. The control unit is configured to change the predetermined condition according to at least one of a state of the man-power drive vehicle and an environment of the man-power drive vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
