The present invention relates to a dosing assembly (10) for a drug delivery device (1). The dosing assembly comprises a plunger rod (15), a plunger rod holder (21), and an actuating sleeve (23) configured to receive a portion of the plunger rod holder (21). The starting member is configured to move the actuating sleeve (23) from the first position to the second position with respect to the plunger rod holder (21). The plunger rod (15) is configured to be axially locked with respect to the plunger rod holder (21) when the actuating sleeve (23) is in the first position. The plunger rod (15) is released from being locked axially as the actuating sleeve (23) moves toward the second position.
