PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palm print authentication device and a palm print authentication method capable of easily recognizing a palm.;SOLUTION: A palm-print authentication device 10 includes: near-infrared irradiation means 11 for irradiating a palm of a person to be authenticated with a near infrared ray; short-wavelength light irradiation means 12 for irradiating the palm of the person to be authenticated with short-wavelength light; and imaging means 13 for imaging the palm of the person to be authenticated. An image of an authentication object is acquired by extracting a coordinate of an image range of a palm to be used for authentication from a near-infrared image imaged by irradiating the palm of the person to be authenticated with near infrared ray, and extracting an image of a coordinate position from a short-wavelength light image imaged by irradiating the short-wavelength light.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT
