To provide a power generation system using the waste heat in sewage sludge incineration equipment and an operation method of the power generation system.SOLUTION: A power generation system comprises: a sewage sludge incinerator; an air preheater for heating combustion air; a waste heat boiler for producing steam by an exhaust gas from the incinerator; and a power generator for generating power by driving a steam turbine by the steam which is generated by the waste heat boiler. A heating side of the air preheater has piping for supplying the exhaust gas from a combustion furnace to the air preheater, and piping for supplying the heat-exchanged exhaust gas to the waste heat boiler, and a heated side of the air preheater has piping for supplying the combustion air to the air preheater, and piping for supplying the heat-exchanged combustion air to the incinerator. The power generator has a water-cooling type condenser for condensing the steam discharged from the steam turbine. An exhaust gas temperature of an inlet of the waste heat boiler is 500°C to 700°C, a steam condition of the steam turbine is 1.0 MPa to 1.6 MPa, and 340°C to 370°C, and an output of the power generator is 450 kW to 1,000 kW.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
