PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software version upgrading method of a portable terminal capable of easily upgrading the software version even when there is no liquid crystal screen or there is a just small liquid crystal screen, and provide the portable terminal.SOLUTION: A holter electrocardiograph 100 stores a file for version upgrade in an internal memory 124 under a control of a USB controller 123, then the access right to the internal memory 124 is transferred from the USB controller 123 to a CPU 122 in response to a connection or disconnection of a USB cable, and the version upgrade is performed. Thus, the version upgrade is easily performed without requiring a liquid crystal screen or operation unit in a body, so that the device body can be downsized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
