To provide a scene meta information generation apparatus for generating scene meta information for each playback section using audio information extracted from image content.SOLUTION: A scene meta information generation apparatus 400 includes: a subtitle information generation unit for detecting a plurality of unit subtitles on the basis of subtitle files associated with image content and correcting the plurality of unit subtitles; an audio information generation unit for extracting audio information from the image content, detecting a plurality of voice segments on the basis of the audio information, and performing speech recognition for the audio information of each of the voice segments; and an image information generation unit for detecting a video segment corresponding to each of the audio segments, performing image recognition on image frames in the video segment, and selecting a representative image from the image frame.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
