The application recovery system is configured to recover an application running on a client device by determining that the application is behaving abnormally and providing a recovery instruction to the application. The application running on the client device includes the main part of the application and the recovery part of the application. The recovery part of the application sends a request for recovery instructions to the network system. The network system receives the recovery request and analyzes the operational request generated by the main part of the application to identify defective features and their associated software packages. Recovery instructions are determined based on the identified defective features and their associated software packages and sent to the client device. The client device applies a recovery instruction to modify the application so that it recovers normal operation.
