To provide a long and short composite spun yarn which exhibits an excellent moisture absorbing performance under an uncomfortable high humidity, and can provide a comfortable environment within clothing by diffusing absorbed moisture and dissipating heat in a low humidity environment where moisture absorption is not necessary, and also excels in abrasion resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a long and short composite spun yarn which has a core-sheath structure consisting of a core part composed mainly of an acrylonitrile-based polymer and a sheath part composed mainly of a polymer having a crosslinked structure and carboxyl groups and at least partially uses acrylic fibers having 0.050 to 0.080 of A represented by the following formula.
