To provide a muffling member that prevents ceramic fragments that are generated when a ceramic substrate of the muffling member disposed inside a motorcycle muffler is broken from scattering outside the muffler, and has excellent strength and heat resistance.SOLUTION: A muffling member 10 used for a motorcycle muffler includes: a substrate 2 made of a porous oxide ceramic with communicated pores; and an aggregate 4 made of an inorganic fiber 4a and bonded to part of the surface of the substrate via an adhesive agent 6. The inorganic fiber has a fiber length of 30 μm or longer and is entangled with each other. At least part of the inorganic fiber is bonded to each other by an adhesive agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
