PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress breakdown of an electronic component, or abrasion of a cutter due to interference of the cutter and the electronic component.SOLUTION: An interference presence/absence detector includes a carrier tape (90) where a cover tape (92) is bonded to a base tape (91) in which a component housing section (91a) for housing an electronic component (P) has been formed, a feeder having a tape feeder for feeding the carrier tape (90), and a cutter (70) for peeling the cover tape (92) by using the feeding of the carrier tape (90), and a height measurement sensor for measuring the height position of the upper surface of the cutter (70), and the height position of the upper surface of the electronic component (P). When the carrier tape (90) has been attached to the feeder, the height measurement sensor measures the height position of the upper surface of the cutter (70) and the height position of the upper surface of the electronic component (P) housed in the component housing section (91a), and presence/absence of interference of the cutter (70) and the electronic component (P) is determined based on the results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
