A Roy copolymer of the formula: Each of the G radicals is independently selected from the group consisting of: A is arylene or heteroarylene, A1 is aryl or heteroaryl, and B is a bridging member. R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and R4. R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkoxy, amino, substituted alkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, substituted aryl, substituted alkoxy, and substituted amino. Xi- is a charge-balanced monovalent or polyvalent counterion, and i is an integer of 1 to 10. Methods of making roy copolymers, laundry care compositions comprising roy copolymers, and methods of treating textiles with such laundry care compositions.
