PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supply device and a component supply system capable of predicting occurrence of a problem in the component supply device, and to provide a problem prediction method in the component supply device.SOLUTION: A component supply device (tape feeder) for transporting a carrier tape housing components to a component take-out position, and supplying the housed component to a component mounting device includes a sprocket for pitch feeding the carrier tape, a drive motor for rotating the sprocket, and a monitoring section (rotary encoder) for monitoring operation of the drive motor. The component supply device monitors operation of the drive motor (ST11), analyzes the load of the drive motor on the basis of the operation of the drive motor thus monitored, determines whether the load of the drive motor thus analyzed is increasing or decreasing (ST13, ST14), and when the load of the drive motor is increasing or decreasing, notifies of the fact that occurrence of a problem is predicted (ST6).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
