An impedance measurement device (20) provided in a cooking apparatus (2) measures the electrical impedance of the object being cooked (4). A temperature sensor (36) provided in the heat-cooking device (3) measures the temperature of the object being cooked (4). A control unit (37) in the heat-cooking device (3) detects burning of the object being cooked (4) on the basis of the electrical impedance measured by the impedance measurement device (20) and a threshold determined according to the temperature measured by the temperature sensor (36). If burning has been detected, the control unit (37) notifies the user.
