PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advanced method for diagnosing an electric apparatus by quantization of stresses acting on a resin mold on a boundary face between a current-conducting portion in the electric apparatus and the resin mold.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for diagnosing an electric apparatus equipped with a resin mold for electrical insulation, the method comprising: a first step of measuring a stress occurring by a thermal load due to current conduction in the electric apparatus and acting on the surface layer of the resin mold for electrical insulation; a second step of converting the measurement result of the stress acting on the surface layer obtained in the first step into a stress acting on a boundary face between the resin mold for electrical insulation and a conductive material covered by the resin mold for electrical insulation; and a third step of converting the stress acting on the boundary face obtained in the second step into equivalent elapsed years of the resin mold for electrical insulation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
