PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer which can reduce a magnetic resistance to the magnetic flux of an iron core.SOLUTION: Adopted is a transformer comprising: a columnar iron core 2; a cylindrical iron core 5 disposed therearound; a plate-shaped iron core 1 connecting to an end of the columnar iron core 2 in its longitudinal direction thereof and to an end of the cylindrical iron core 5 in its longitudinal direction, and composed of a monolayer body of one electromagnetic steel sheet, or a laminate of two or more electromagnetic steel sheets; and a primary coil 3 and a secondary coil 4 which are disposed between the columnar iron core 2 and the cylindrical iron core 5. The electromagnetic steel sheet is composed of a non-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet including Si and Mn in predetermined ranges, and Al, C, N and S which are limited in quantity with the balance consisting of Fe and impurities, wherein in Bunge display of an orientation distribution function defined by 0≤φ1≤90°, 0≤φ2≤90° and 0≤ψ≤90° of a sheet thickness center layer, a φ1 angle region, of which the maximum intensity in an orientation of ψ=55° in a cross section of φ2=45° is 2.8 or more and 1.5 or less, and the intensity in an orientation of ψ=0° in a cross section of φ2=0° is 2 or more, is 70° or more and 90° or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
