PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hexavalent chromium treatment agent capable of simply determining whether leather is treated by the hexavalent chromium treatment agent or not although appearance of the leather is not changed before and after a treatment by the hexavalent chromium treatment agent.SOLUTION: The hexavalent chromium treatment agent contains a hexavalent chromium reduction compound capable of reducing hexavalent chromium to trivalent hexavalent, a fluorescent material and a solvent. The hexavalent chromium reduction compound preferably contains an organic compound having a specific structure having reduction property to trivalency by acting with hexavalent chromium and a hydroxyphenyl group and no aldehyde group and no carboxyl group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
