PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for determining corrosiveness of water, which do not require waste liquid treatment and enable corrosiveness of water to copper or copper alloy to be quickly and clearly determined.SOLUTION: A method and device 1 for determining corrosiveness of water to copper or copper alloy are provided. The method comprises: immersing a working electrode 2 and a counter electrode 3A of a three-electrode electrochemical cell with the working electrode 2, the counter electrode 3, and a reference electrode 4 in water under test 6 and immersing the reference electrode 4 in an electrolyte 7, the working electrode 2 containing tin at least in a surface thereof; and detecting a current value I of current flowing between the working electrode 2 and the counter electrode 3 when sweep voltage or constant voltage is applied between the reference electrode 4 and the working electrode 2, or detecting potential difference V between the working electrode 2 and the reference electrode 4 when constant current is caused to flow between the counter electrode 3 and the working electrode 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
