PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source unit for an aerosol inhaler capable of highly accurately diagnosing a power source, a method for diagnosing the state of the power source of the aerosol inhaler, and a diagnostic program for the state of the power source of the aerosol inhaler. An aerosol inhaler 1 includes a power supply 12 capable of discharging a load 21 for generating an aerosol from an aerosol generation source, and an MCU 50 configured to control charging and discharging of the power supply 12. The MCU 50 has a charging mode for controlling charging of the power source 12, a first mode (free mode and power mode) different from the charging mode, and a second mode (discharging mode) different from the charging mode and the first mode.
