To provide a method of manufacturing at least one ash formation means for a particulate filter of an exhaust gas system.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing at least one ash formation means 1 for a particulate filter of an exhaust gas system of a gasoline engine or a diesel engine, from a multilayered wafer including an ash formation component 2, has processes for preparing a strip-shaped center layer 3 of the wafer, forming a plurality of receiving holes on the center layer 3, preparing a strip-shaped bottom portion layer 4 of the wafer, permanently connecting the bottom portion layer 4 with the center layer 3, charging an ash formation component 2 into the receiving holes 6 of the center layer 3, preparing a strip-shaped upper portion layer 5 of the wafer, permanently connecting the upper portion layer 5 to the center layer 3, punching out at least one ash formation means 1 from the wafer, and forming a plurality of through flow openings 7 on a region free from the ash formation component 2 of the ash formation means 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
