PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass analysis ionization supporting agent that can reduce noise of mass analysis and expand a detection range, and a method for mass analysis using the agent.SOLUTION: The mass analysis ionization supporting agent includes: functional nanoparticles having a core made of a metal oxide coated by a polymer with a functional group on the surface; and a matrix functional material having a function of absorbing and ionizing a light energy and receiving or giving protons or electrons from or to an analysis target material in a sample, the matrix functional material being modified while being covalently bonded to the functional group of the functional nanoparticles.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
