PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavation method, in which a blasting hole may be formed at a pertinent position.SOLUTION: There is provided a method in which a blasting hole is formed obliquely to a tunnel axis line, the blasting hole is filled up with explosive, and blasting is carried out for tunnel excavation, which comprises an actual working surface measurement step where an actual working surface is measured, a target next working surface setting step setting a target next working surface as a working surface after blasting at front of the actual working surface in an axis direction, a bootleg setting step setting position of a bootleg of the blasting hole on the target next working surface; an inclination angle setting step setting an inclination angle of blasting a hole drilling line along the blasting hole; an opening end setting step setting position of an opening end of the blasting hole on the actual working surface; a step of contacting tip of a drill rod to the opening end; a step of adjusting the angle of a guide cell to the inclination angle; and a drill step promoting the drill rod to create the blasting hole.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
