PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor that easily measures the amount of a specific sample component, or a biological substance such as glucose and lactic acid that acts as a substrate, in a body fluid such as blood and urine.SOLUTION: An enzyme-based microcalorimeter has a first temperature sensor 20A, a second temperature sensor 20B, and a reaction section 6 provided on a thin film 10 thermally separated from a substrate 1, and is configured such that a target liquid sample injected therein flows through a hermetically sealed microchannel 17 provided on the thin film 10 to the reaction section 6. Heat generated by a thermal reaction that occurs when a specific sample component comes into contact with an enzyme of a specific sample-pairing substance 4 fixed in the reaction section 6 is picked up as a differential output of the first temperature sensor 20A and the second temperature sensor 20B, and is used to obtain information related to the amount of the specific sample component in a body fluid. Various enzymes or substrates are fixed in the reaction section 6 on each of a plurality of separate thin films 10 to make an array such that various biological substances are simultaneously detected from a single injection of the body fluid. The microcalorimeter can be washed for repeated use.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
