To provide an air dancer capable of applying tension to a thin belt-like workpiece such as a film without damaging.SOLUTION: An air dancer 1 which applies tension to a belt-like workpiece by an air pressure comprises: a dancer case 11 which has an opening 12, a bottom surface part 13 facing the opening 12, and a side wall 14, and in which a belt-like workpiece 2 is housed through the opening 12; and tension imparting means 7 which bends the belt-like workpiece 2 into a substantially U-shape by applying an air pressure to the belt-like workpiece 2, houses the belt-like workpiece 2 in the dancer case 11, and applies tension to the belt-like workpiece 2. On the portion of the side wall 14 facing the surface of the housed belt-like workpiece 2 in the side wall 14 of the dancer case 11, a plurality of air ejection holes 9a for ejecting air and a plurality of air suction holes 9b for sucking air are disposed uniformly at least in the portion of the side wall facing the surface of the belt-like workpiece 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
