To provide an embankment structure and a construction method of an embankment structure, which make effective use of a soft soil material having a high water content ratio or a high sensitivity ratio as an embankment material, and have excellent stability.SOLUTION: An embankment structure 1 is constructed by an embankment step in which high quality soil 5 is scattered and compacted to form an embankment layer 2, an excavation step of forming a band-shaped groove 3 in the embankment layer 2, an improved soil production step of mixing the soft soil, a solidifying material, and water to produce a slurry-type improved soil 4, and a filling step for filling the groove 3 with the improved soil 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
