PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably produce an opened tow inside of which a sticking agent is uniformly dispersed when an opening device having a tow introduction port with an opening dimension that is smaller than a dimension of a tow in a direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the tow is used to open a tow which a sticking agent is adhered on a surface by an adhering apparatus.SOLUTION: An opened tow production apparatus comprises: an adhering device that adheres a liquid sticking agent on a surface of a tow while flowing the tow of filament conveyed inside; a first conveying roll that is disposed on a downstream side in a conveying direction of a tow than the adhering apparatus and conveys the tow to the downstream side while winding it around an outer peripheral surface; and an opening device that has a tow introduction port with an opening dimension that is smaller than a dimension of the tow in a contact position of the first conveying roll and the tow in an axial direction of the first conveying roll and is disposed on a downstream side than the first conveying roll to open the tow introduced from the tow introduction port with an air.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
