PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: antisense oligonucleotides that modulate the expression and/or function of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNP) by targeting natural antisense polynucleotides of BDNF; and their use in treating diseases and disorders associated with the expression of BDNF.;SOLUTION: A method of modulating the function and/or expression of a BDNF polynucleotide in patient cells or tissues in vivo or in vitro comprises contacting the cells or tissues with at least one antisense oligonucleotide of 5-30 nucleotides in length having at least 50% sequence identity to a reverse complement of a natural antisense of the BDNF polynucleotide; and thereby modulating the function and/or expression of the BDNF polynucleotide in the patient cells or tissues.;SELECTED DRAWING: None;COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT
