To provide a quarantine server for quarantining a terminal more properly and a method for quarantine.SOLUTION: In a quarantine server 100, a scan controller 101 performs control so that a terminal will execute a virus scan. A definition information providing unit 102 provides the latest virus definition information to the terminal at the time of the execution. An acquisition unit 103 acquires the result of scan from the terminal. A quarantine unit 104 quarantines the terminal on the basis of the result of scan, and a transmission unit 105 sends the result of the quarantining by the quarantine unit 104. The quarantine server 100 thus allows the terminal to execute virus scan using the latest virus definition information, acquires the result of the execution, and quarantines the terminal, and therefore can quarantine the terminal more properly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
