A headphone system includes headphones including a right-side earpiece including a right-side audio driver and a left-side earpiece including a left-side audio driver. The headphone system further includes a sensor to provide a sensor signal indicative of one of an aspect of movement of a user wearing the headphones or a value of a physiological parameter of the user; a controller configured to output an audio signal via the headphones, and a detection circuit configured to receive the sensor signal and to provide feedback based on the one of the aspect of movement of the user or the value of the physiological parameter, the feedback including a location of a source of the audio signal perceived by the user.
