This invention relates to a lighting method for illuminating an environment (A) by means of a plurality of light sources (2ij), with i=1, . . . , N, where N is a positive integer and j=1, . . . , M, where M is a positive integer, wherein the method is comprised of the following steps: A. acquisition (110) of a video signal v(t), in which the image of each frame (3) is divided into a plurality of boxes (3ij); B. subdivision (120) of the video signal v(t) into a plurality of video signal boxes vij(t), each associated with the image portion of each frame (3) displayed on a respective box (3ij); C. frequency processing (130) of the frame video signals vij(t), for obtaining the spectra of the respective luminance (f) and chrominance signals (f) associated with each video signal box vij(t); D. extraction of the dominant frequency band (140) of the luminance signal spectrum (f) associated with each box video signal vij(t); E. extraction of the dominant frequency band (150) of the chrominance signal spectrum (f) associated with each box video signal vij(t); F. sum of the processed spectra of luminance and chrominance signals; and G. obtaining the time driving signal pijCtrl(t) of each of the light sources (2ij).;this invention also relates to a computer program, a storage medium and lighting system (IS).
