The present invention describes a process for obtaining an environmentally friendly bioadsorber (B), obtained from the treatment of fresh coconut fibers (1) with protic ionic liquids (LIPs), which give the bioadsorber (B) a high capacity to adsorb oil and oil products in contaminated coastal and marine waters, in addition to organic pollutants from industrial and domestic effluents. For this purpose, the proposed process is comprised of stages of selection of suitable granulometry (E1-E4) and treatment of coconut fibers in natura (1) with LIPs (E5 - E8). In order to validate the bioadsorber (B) obtained, a simulation of oil spill in the marine environment was carried out on a laboratory scale using a system with reciprocal movements that simulate marine hydrodynamics, in which the result was quite satisfactory, revealing the ability to sorption of a volume of organic substances equivalent to twice the mass of the bioadsorber (B), a capacity that comes from the treatment of fibers with LIPs, which allows the minimization of environmental impacts in marine and coastal environments, arising from the release of these pollutants.
