The present invention relates to a process of three-dimensional reconstruction of a medical image from data captured through a medical imaging device, comprising the steps of: (a) acquisition (110) of image data from a given region of the a patient's body, captured using a medical imaging device; (b) processing (120) of the data from step (a) through an image reader that allows multiplanar and volumetric reformatting; (c) segmentation (130) of the medical image from the data acquired in step (a) and reformatted in step (b); (d) selection (140) of areas and elements of interest to the image resulting from step (c) for use in image reconstruction and elimination of areas and elements that will not be part of the reconstruction; (e) transformation (150) of the image resulting from step (d) into a three-dimensional object using a surface rendering tool; (f) treatment (160) of the image resulting from step (e) with the refinement and completion of the mesh of the three-dimensional object and with the elimination of irregularities; and (g) texturing and rendering (170) of the three-dimensional object resulting from step (f).
