A process for preparing thermoplastic fiber based on residual fibers from the food industry is described, which comprises the extrusion, under shear conditions, of a mixture of between 30% w / w and 75% w / w of a polyhydroxylated plasticizer such as glycerol and 70% and 25% w / w of FR, the processing allowing the formation of the thermoplastic matrix or thermoplastic fiber (FTP). There is therefore no need to insert an additional thermoplastic matrix. The thermoplastic fiber-based composite is obtained by extruding the FTP grains under extrusion conditions with between 20% w / w and 80% w / w of a biodegradable flexible polymer like PBAT. The composite is extruded like grains or films, allowing the manufacture of short-term packaging and biodegradable films.
