A control method and a device for the active power of a group of wind power plants are provided. The group of wind farms includes wind farms of m priorities, where m is a positive integer. The control method includes: monitoring the power capacity of a power grid in real time and determining the active power object of the wind farm group according to the power capacity of the power grid; determine an active wind power command within each priority, according to the active power object of the wind power group in descending order of priorities; and control the actual active power of the wind farm within each priority according to the active command power.
