compensable horizontal stabilizer actuator control system, aircraft, methods to control a compensable horizontal stabilizer actuator and to modify an aircraft. a compensable horizontal stabilizer actuator control system (thsa) (6) for an aircraft is described. the thsa 6 control system uses electronic elements and can replace pre-existing mechanical compensation control systems. the thsa control system comprises: at least one main thsa engine (10) to drive thsa (8) in response to input from a flight control computer (fcc); a pilot compensation control system for manual control of thsa (8) by a pilot canceling the fcc, where the pilot compensation control system comprises a compensation control (2) to receive input from the pilot, the trim control (2) including a trim control sensor (18) to detect the pilot input and provide a pilot trim control signal; a thsa trim control motor (12) to drive thsa trim (8) in response to the pilot trim control signal; and an electronic override system (22) for giving pilot priority inputs over fcc inputs preventing at least one main thsa engine (10) from activating thsa when a pilot input via the pilot compensation control system requires a different state for thsa than a fcc entry.
