the invention describes an automated system for inventory and delivery of material to underground mines using a well and lift that transport material from the surface to work areas. the system includes means to automatically process paperless orders for supplies from a plurality of locations within the mine. the system communicates with a customer through a plurality of terminals located along the mine and tracks the material received, stored and distributed using electronic means of inventory tracking. loading and unloading of material into and out of the cage is automatic and includes means of vehicle guided automatically to collect the ordered material and deliver it to the cage. the system includes means by which consumable supplies are delivered autonomously to a work area to ensure that sufficient material is available to achieve production targets. the ore can be transported to the surface using the ore cage and containers, optimizing the use of the hoist and increasing the mine's production.
