an access point is arranged to serve both wireless broadband stations and wireless narrowband stations, where wireless narrowband stations operate on a subset of the bandwidth on which wireless broadband stations operate . the access point comprises a transceiver and a controller. the controller is arranged to schedule the simultaneous use of a first set of subcarriers for a broadband station and a first wireless station in narrow band causing the transceiver to transmit a first suggestion of subcarrier, on the first set of subcarriers to be used, for the first wireless broadband station and transmit a suggested modulation and encoding scheme, mcs, on the subcarriers that include the first set of subcarriers to be used, for the broadband station. the suggested mcs is adapted to be more robust in view of any interference in a transmission from the wireless broadband station caused by a transmission from the first wireless broadband station in the first set of subcarriers. a station arranged to communicate with the access point, and computer methods and programs are also described.
