various modalities related to erythropoietin polypeptide analogs (epo) are provided with one or more additional glycosylation sites and methods of producing and using them to treat anemia in pets. in addition, various modalities related to epo polypeptides with a mutation at the second binding site, polypeptides comprising an extracellular domain of the epo receptor and methods of using them to treat polycythemia in mammals are also provided.
