device for continuous temperature measurement of liquid steel in the distributor with infrared pyrometer and optical fiber. the system developed for continuous measurement of temperature in liquid metal (1), as in the case of the distributor (2) of the continuous casting, using an optical process to control the speed of the casting machine, consists of an infrared sensor (8) protected by a jacket (30) with refrigeration. this two-color sensor (8), combined with an optical fiber (9), focused inside a ceramic tube (15) with fast thermal and luminous conductivity and an optical to electrical signal conversion device (10), provides a reading need the temperature of the liquid steel (1) of the distributor (2). the device eliminates the drawbacks of the method currently used due to its practicality. reduces operator exposure to high temperatures, downtime for maintenance, operational risks, increases safety and makes replacement quick and easy, reducing quality problems on the plates and consequently cost.
