hole measurements using a fast, high-resolution energy gamma detector set. a gamma-ray detector assembly for a well filing system that requires gamma-ray measurement with optimized gamma-ray energy resolution and the fast emission times needed to obtain meaningful measurements in high radiation fields. the detector assembly comprises a sparkling labr3 crystal and a digital spectrometer that cooperates with the crystal to maximize the performance of pulse processing by digital filtering and digital pulse accumulation inspection. the detector set is capable of measuring the digital pulse and inspecting the digital accumulation in less than 600 nanoseconds per event. the pulse height can be accurately measured (corrected according to the accumulation effects) for 2 pulses separated by 150 nanoseconds. although the invention is applicable to virtually any well bore filing methodology that uses gamma radiation measurement in poor well conditions, the invention is particularly applicable to carbon / oxygen filing.
