self-locking keel system and method for operating a keel and keel receiver the self-locking keel system comprises a keel receiver and a keel. the keel has a male component that cooperates with a keel receiver cavity. the cavity has front and rear ends, a spring arranged at the rear end and at least one pin arranged between the front and rear ends. the male component includes a front end and at least one locking key, the locking key corresponds in numbers to the number of bolts. when the male component is configured in the cavity and the locking key is aligned with the receiver pin, the spring pushes the front end of the male component against the rear wall of the receiver cavity and the locking key against the pin providing a locking mechanism locking that keeps the keel on the receiver.
