METHODS FOR REPAIR AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF RAILWAY DORMENTES, AND TO CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THE RAILWAY RAIL SEAT. A method for preventive maintenance and repair of railway sleepers is described by applying a polymer system to the surface of the rail seat. The polymer system is cured by irradiation with ultraviolet light to completely cure or partially cure the polymer. The polymer system can be used in conjunction with a sleeper base that is capable of transmitting ultraviolet light to allow the polymer to cure.
