There are DPA-enhanced pharmaceutical compositions of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the form of free acid,therapeutic methods for their use and methods for the refinement of fish oil compositions. Treatment methods for hypertriglyceridaemia are also provided(200 mg/dL -500 mg/dL) by supplemental administration of one statin and the pharmaceutical combinations described here. Further treatment methods include:among others,treatments to increase the proportion of ERA:AA in plasma,treatment to reduce ApoCIII levels and treatment to reduce or prevent resistance to platelet aggregation inhibitors.
