The target simulator consists of a series of radio transponders consisting of a millimetre wave receiver (1.1) with a receiving antenna (1.2) and a frequency down-converter (1.3), a millimetre wave transmitter (1.4) with a transmitting antenna (1.5) and a frequency up-converter ( 1.6) and signal processing circuits (1.7). The signal processing circuits (1.7) are connected via a digital bus to control circuits (4) consisting of a programmable microcomputer with a program for activating and deactivating individual radio transponders (1), setting simulated distances and radial speeds of active radio transponders (1), the speed is on the line tested automobile radar (2) and given radio transponder (1).
