UNITED POWER FLOW REGULATOR USING ENERGY SAVING DEVICES AT ENERGY CONSUMPTION POINTS

A system and method are provided for regulating the voltage received from the utility power grid. An integrated power flow regulator is provided at the point of power consumption and includes terminals electrically coupled to a power source that receives AC mains current and AC mains voltage from the utility grid. The power converter is electrically connected to the terminals and includes an active rectifier that converts virtually all of the AC mains current to DC, and an inverter that converts DC to AC load and AC load voltage, the AC load voltage is less than the AC mains voltage. A transformer is provided having first terminals electrically connected to the power source and second terminals electrically connected to the output of the inverter. The transformer sequentially injects an alternating load voltage with an alternating mains voltage.
