A collapsible intermodal container is proposed comprising opposing parallel side walls, the side walls being connected so that the collapsible intermodal container is configured to change configuration between the mounted configuration for storing goods and the folded configuration, and the front and rear end assemblies for closing the front and rear ends of the container in a mounted configuration, each of the front and rear end assemblies being pivotally connected to the first side wall, and when the folding intermodal container is in the mounted configuration, the front and rear end assemblies are configured to interact with the side walls to secure the side walls, and when the folding intermodal container is in a folded configuration, the front and rear end nodes are configured to interact with at least one more folding intermodal container for attaching the side walls relative to another folding intermodal container.
