The invention relates to the use of a selective antagonist-adrenergic receptor for the treatment and prevention of a tumor in a patient with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. In particular, the invention relates to the use of an alkanolamine derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof for the treatment and prevention of hemangioblastoma in patients with VHL syndrome.
