The present invention refers to a stiff damper to correct dynamic behavior of solar trackers and to avoid aeroelastic instabilities, directly related to the natural frequencies of the construction. To avoid operation in instable conditions, a sufficiently stiff damper may be accommodated, not aiming to damping but to changing the dynamics and aeroelastic behavior. In such case significant stiff dampers are in need. For increased stiffness of a viscous damper significant small and long orifice must be used. Such orifice is hard to manufacture, especially in proper tolerances, and although technically feasible, significant expensive in production. In the proposed damper, the necessary throttling is achieved through easily and productively manufactured grooves. Piston is grooved on the side surface while sealing and guides are installed above the groove(s).
